Lime shortage in Canonbury???

Is this rumour or hard fact, apparently Canonbury is facing a shortage in limes! It has not been establish as of yet wether this is a long term problem or will be solved with a short term solution. According to Canonbury officials in the Department of Citrus Distribution “limes… might [not] be available… in Canonbury”. Despite this alarming news we urge you not to stock pile limes, as this may be detrimental to those who have a G&T emergency or a guacamole misshap.

Party on Pethy Road!

Roll up, roll up, the party of the season has been officially announced!

The Petherton Road Area Residents’ Association is organising a Street Picnic from 12.30 – 3.30 on Petherton Green on Sunday 17th July 2011.

They will be putting out the trestle tables and hopefully some jolly neighbours will turn up with food, drink and smiles to share.

There will be face-painting for the children (and me hopefully!), a dog show, free advice on dog welfare from the Council’s dogs unit, and free security tagging for your bikes by the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Apparently, this will also be an opportunity to meet Alexandra Rook who is helping with a Public Consultation about how the Green can be improved.

Events like this may sound twee, but they are what hold the community together – so take a moment, look away from the screen, bake a few cupcakes and swing by. It should be fun :)

A new neighbour

I’ve seen this little guy cropping up recently all over the place from Bologna to London and now he’s the newest member of our community!

Hello world!

A few of us thought that the lovely area of Canonbury in Islington needed a little love on the world wide web, so we created this blog as a space to share our love of all things Canonbury, Newington Green, Stokey and beyond. Enjoy!
